Methods of Internet Marketing

I started working with online services in 1984. And in 2000 I began to develop a methodology called “Ten Metods” that includes all main marketing methods on the Internet. These are:
- Domain Name Strategies (URL:s, web page addresses, localisation etc)
- Web Design (user- and search engine friendly web design etc)
- Copywriting (content, messages, keywords etc)
- Linking Strategies (internal and external (=incoming) links, PageRank etc)
- Search Engine Positioning (a combination of method 1+2+3+4 + search engine registering etc)
- Advertising (search engine advertising, banners, web TV etc)
- E-mail Marketing and RSS (or just all techniques to send messages)
- Network Marketing (affiliate marketing, social media etc)
- Interactivity (e-commerce, communities, widgets etc)
- Traffic Analysis (measuring customer prospects, and measuring method 1-9 in order to improve them)
This is NOT a “top-ten list”. It’s just a “metric system” or a taxanomy that I use in my consultancy and in my education. The goal is to make the term “Internet Marketing” easer to understand for both beginners and more experienced clients.
Read more about this in May 2009, when this blog will be officially announced.
Sincerely,
